Harrison Reed has impressed on-loan at Fulham this season and now Southampton have to decide what his fate will be next season.

The rumours are now swirling around the 25-year-old midfielder who is now looking like he is ready to step up and play for a Premier League side. Burnley, are reportedly keeping tabs on the player and could potentially submit a bid to Southampton for him when the transfer window opens next week.

Reed, is entering the final year of his contract with the Saints which will force them to decide to either sell or sing him to a new deal. There have been talks of him becoming Hojbjerg’s replacement and also Fulham would want to keep the player, especially if they do make the return to the Premier League.

Personally, I believe the club should look to sell the player. If they could get Burnley and Fulham into a bit of a bidding war they would be able to collect more money for the midfielder than before. That would mean the club would have to bring in a new Centre-midfielder this summer.

I think it will largely depend on how much money Ralph will be given this summer and what else they can get from selling others. If the budget is on the smaller side, it may be wise to keep Reed but with the sale of Hojbjerg in addition to the budget, they may be better off getting a younger player that Ralph really likes and thinks will benefit the team.

There are a whole slew of things that could happen this summer with Reed and we will keep you updated on all of it.
