Southampton are reportedly close to making their first movements in the summer transfer market as they prepare for another Premier League season.

A deal has been agreed to bring Real Valladolid centre-back Mohammed Salisu to St Mary’s and it looks as though Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will be moving to either Everton or Spurs very soon too.

Financial strains have been put on almost all clubs due to the Coronavirus and there may be less spending overall this summer, but moves will still be vital to helping teams reach their full potential next year.

Importantly for those at St Mary’s, signings will provide players that Ralph Hasenhuttl wants to work with and with whom he can build a team to push well into the top half of the Premier League table.

With rumoured transfers and fringe players in mind, here is a look at how Saints’ first-choice starting line-up could appear in 2020/21.
