Southampton have not officially announced any of their deals but they have moved Hojbjerg and officially brought in Kyle Walker-Peters this summer.

Both players have reportedly signed deals with their new teams and they will both span a total of 5 years. This has been the main deal of the summer for the Saints and everyone is just waiting for both clubs to make it official.

Getting KWP for the reported £12m, is a great bit of business. From what we say towards the end of the season he fits in perfectly with Ralph’s system and is eager to prove himself as a Premier League regular.

Singing him for 5-years is a good move in my mind. He is still young and has room to grow and during his time with the club could become a top right-back in the league.

As for Hojbjerg, this move was on the cards for awhile now and it was only a matter of time. He made his intentions clear and the club was able to get the move done for the player who was clearly no longer interested in being at Southampton.

I do not hold anything against PEH. He was a good player and played for the badge during his time with the club but wanted to move on. Fortunately, we were able to get a good bit of money for him and will now be able to fund moves for new players to further strengthen the club.

We proved we could not only play without Hojbjerg but also win. We needed to improve the club in other areas and his sale will allow the board to do so. I suspect we are nowhere near being done this transfer window and we will see at least 3 more players signed before the new season kicks off.
