The 21-year-old striker will likely move this summer as his current club failed to earn promotion and clubs like Southampton are keen to make a move.

Southampton, are not the only club who are interested on bringing in the young striker. They will face competition from the likes of Napoli, Roma, and Wolfsburg. From the recent report, the price tag for the Argentinian will likely cost €12m.

This is an interesting rumour for the Saints as they seemed satisfied with their current striking corp in Ings, Adams, Long, and Obafemi but a recent rumour has linked Obafemi with a potential loan deal away from the club which would make this Nunez link make more sense.

Darwin Nunez, is a promising young talent and could add another goal scoring threat for the Saints. He put in 16 goals in 30 appearances for his club in La Liga 2 and since they failed to gain promotion it is likely they will not be able to hang onto the player any longer.

It would make sense Obafemi is the odd man out if Nunez is purchased. The Irishman is the youngest of our strikers and still has room to develop. A season playing a lot of first team football could be really beneficial for him and he could come back much improved.

The new season is now right around the corner and if the Saints want to make any more move they will need to start getting the preliminary work done now so they can maximize the players time to get ready before the season starts.

I suspect we will see at least two more players brought in this summer before we kick off the new campaign.
