The US international has been heavily linked with Southampton but appears he will be going to Italy and joining the likes of Ronaldo instead.

The deal from Juventus appears to be a loan deal with an obligation to buy at the end. It is tough for a club like Southampton to compete with clubs like the Italian giants so it is no real surprise he will be going to Italy instead of coming to the South Coast of England.

We will not dwell too much on McKennie because now the club needs to focus on finding a replacement for Hojbjerg still because it appears as though Harrison Reed will be joining Fulham on a permanent deal.

I am sure the club has their eyes on a number of midfielders, and I have a feeling they could still be coming from the German league, I just hope they get the deal done relatively quickly so they player can go through their two week quarantine and get going with the team.

The season is only a few weeks away now at this point and the team needs to be ready to go if they hope to be competing for a top half finish.

There is still business to be done. Mainly, they still need to sell players that have no future in the squad and get them off the wage bill.

Mostly, I would like to see Hoedt, Lemina, and Carrillo taken care of before buying anyone else. Get some money back and focus on buying a quality replacement and not just buy a player to buy one.
