Djenepo or Redmond – who does Ralph go for?

Nathan Redmond was unavailable for selection on Sunday after picking up an injury in Saints’ loss to Brentford in midweek but that handed Moussa Djenepo a chance to impress – and that he did.

The young Malian was positive from the off and showed that he could drive infield as well as take on his marker successfully down the line. He also used both feet with success in the process, almost scoring with a left-footed drive that hit the post in the first-half.

When Redmond is back from his ankle complaint, Ralph Hasenhuttl certainly has a decision to make.

Djenepo seems to have more attacking output to offer at the moment and looks the much more confident player. According to fbref.com, his play in the 2020/21 Premier League so far has created four shots on goal in 103 minutes on the pitch.

Despite creating only one shot on goal, Redmond looks to have the upper hand on Djenepo when it comes to pressing. He has been successful with 41% of his pressures so far this campaign, whilst Djenepo is on 21%.
