Southampton: Four midfielders Saints could sign before transfer deadline

Recent reports have linked Southampton to a host of potential transfer deals before the window closes on the 5th October.

The main news that Saints fans will want to hear is which midfielder will be arriving at St Mary’s to fill the void in the centre of the pitch.

Many players in this position have been mentioned as targets but it now appears that the club’s shortlist is becoming clearer.

It is clear that Ralph Hasenhuttl’s squad is two or three players short of where it should be in terms of quality. Three straight losses at the beginning of the 2020/21 season has emphasised this.
