Southampton: Four midfielders Saints could sign before transfer deadline

Davies has recently been mentioned as a target by talkSPORT and Sky Sports in separate reports, but other outlets have denied this.

The Liverpool Echo and Football Insider both claim that Saints were interested in bringing in Davies in a swap deal with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, but a move is now less likely with Hojbjerg having moved to Spurs instead.

Davies has fallen out of favour at Everton after a summer of big spending at Goodison Park added Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez to Carlo Ancelotti’s options.

Assessing the situation right now, it does look like Saints have moved onto other targets.
