Vestergaard excels

Jannik Vestergaard was brought into the starting line-up for Saturday’s game because of his height and his ability to see off the direct passing from Burnley.

He did his job superbly well alongside the equally excellent Jan Bednarek as they stopped the home strikers at source.

Vestergaard won nine aerial duels, made 13 clearances and 55 passes whilst not losing the ball once – just what was expected of him.

The conundrum facing Ralph Hasenhuttl is whether the Dane can play against less direct teams after previously having his lack of pace exposed.
