Southampton: Saints deeply interested in midfielder Joey Veerman
Southampton have been looking for a new central midfielder for some time and now their interested has landed on Joey Veerman.
According to a report, you can read here, Southampton are interested in the extremely talented midfielder who currently plays for SC Heerenveen. The club has apparently been tracking the player for some time now and they are now preparing to make a move for him.
Apparently, the Saints will face competition from an unnamed team in Spain for the player. The 21-year-old recently signed a new contract with his club that would keep him there until 2024 so he is happy but if the right offer comes he would be happy with a move.
He would be a great player for Southampton. He is described to be exceptional on both sides of the ball. He can make tackles and win the ball back and launch the team into attack. He is solid both dribbling and passing and that is what we are currently missing from the squad.
He has played 25 matches for his current club and has found the back of the next 6 times. This is a solid return for any midfielder and thing he could transfer it over to the Premier League

The club will not have much time to get this transfer done and the reason they missed out on a recent target is that they were moving to slowly and PSV swooped in. Southampton will need to make a solid offer as the club will not let him go for cheap.
Saints fans have been clamoring for the team to do some business and hopefully, they get some done here soon. This would be a great signing in my opinion and I would be delighted if they get it done.
