Midfielders

James Ward-Prowse, Centre-Mid – 7

Workmanlike as always with a couple excellent direct passes.  One or two times may have been a little slow to get the ball out of his feet.  Put a free kick on Danny Ings forehead almost leading to the opener.

Oriol Romeu, Centre-Mid – 9

Absolutely bossed the midfield in the first half and scored a cracker in the second.

Stuart Armstrong, Attacking-Mid – 6.5

Lackluster start to this match, picking up the ball sparingly and driving forward on his one notable attack finishing with a strike to row zed.  Earned the assist on Romeu’s goal, with a smart run across Redmond’s eye line.  If you asked him if he was fit, he would probably say no.

Moussa Djenepo, Attacking-Mid – 7

Was desperate to get on the ball as the Saints drove up the right side most of the first half.  Played a lot of the match centrally because of these tactics.  Took himself a brilliant goal with a cruyff to his left foot.  Doesn’t quite appear 100% fit, picked up an early second half yellow and was subbed off in the 54th minute.
