It is that time of year again when the popular video game FIFA comes out and now we get to see who are the highest rated Southampton players.

Every season EA updates the player ratings on every team they have within the game and that is no different for Southampton. After a strong end to the season last year it opened the doors for some of the boys to get improved ratings.

Today we will look at the top 5 highest rated Southampton players and where FIFA 21 got it right and where they got it wrong.

Number 5

Alex McCarthy – 77

The goalkeeper coming in as the fifth highest-rated Saint’s player comes as a bit of surprise when you see players like Jan Bednarek and Stuart Armstrong are rated below him but when you get into the details you see why it makes sense.

His highest rated stat is his reflexes at a solid 81 followed closely by his diving at 77. McCarthy, is an average keeper who is capable of making quality saves on his day. His virtual counterpart is pretty spot on and I would say EA got this one correct.

He will probably not be included in anybody’s Ultimate team but with a few informs he could see his rating jump all the way up to 83 and then he would be more than a capable FIFA keeper.
