Southampton have concluded business this transfer window and Elyounoussi will spend the season with Celtic but next summer he could fight for a place.

The Athletic has reported that the Norweigan international will have a shot to impress Hasenhuttl next summer and that he could still make an impact on the Premier League. The reason he was not given a chance this summer is that Celtic wanted an answer on him and June and thus they loaned him out again to the Scottish Champions.

Elyounoussi, has shown he is a capable player in the Scottish league and with growing confidence he may be able to translate that over to the Prem on a second try. I am open to him getting this chance and if he is not cut out for the English top-flight then it will be time to move on.

Fortunately, if he continues to perform at Celtic the Saints will likely be able to find a club that will purchase him and they will not have to keep loaning him out.

This report also stated that Southampton were intersted in Arsenal youngster Reiss Nelson and Leicester City attacker Demari Gray. These two players are talented and would have been good fits for the club but nothing made it past initial discussions between the two clubs.

I think Southampton have what they need to succeed after this transfer window but between now and January there is more than enough time to see where else we need to improve. I think there will be some business done in January but it will likely only be one player at most.
