Southampton: Three players Saints secretly wanted in the transfer window

Southampton ended the summer transfer window successfully by securing the loan signing of Theo Walcott from Everton.

The Saints academy graduate re-joined on a temporary deal until the end of the 2020/21 season and added to the permanent additions of Mohammed Salisu, Kyle Walker-Peters and Ibrahima Diallo.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s squad now has a good look to it and Saints have a good chance to enjoy a successful year under the Austrian’s leadership.

Reports during and after the window have claimed that a number of players were targeted behind the scenes by the club though and things could have looked very different now if moves had come off.
