Chelsea vs Southampton: A tactical and statistical review of the match

Southampton took their unbeaten run in the Premier League to three games after claiming an excellent point away at Chelsea.

Saints fell behind to a Timo Werner brace early on but were handed a lifeline just before half-time through Danny Ings’ fourth goal of the season.

They then got back level when Che Adams seized upon a dreadful mistake from Kepa Arrizabalaga but fell behind again when Kai Havertz tapped home from close-range.

However, Saints continued to push forward and got their equaliser after enjoying a very strong second period – Jannik Vestergaard stooping to head home Theo Walcott’s bouncing shot.
