Saints are mentally tough

In past seasons, if the club would have gone down 2-0 in a match to Chelsea they would have just hidden in their shell and try to make sure they did not lose 5-0 instead of thinking they had a chance to take something from the match.

As soon as the second goal went in, the Saints were looking to get one back and showed no sign of tossing in the towel. The key moment for me was the first-half goal. After that moment, they really controlled the match and looked like the better team for the majority of the second half. They should have done better on the third Chelsea goal but they did well to fight back and get the equalizer later on.

If Southampton can play with that mental fortitude for the rest of the season they are going to be a pain to a lot of teams in the league.
