Midfielders

James Ward-Prowse, Centre-Midfielder – 9

Put his foot straight through the ball for his first goal of the season.  Bossed the game from start to finish, rarely, if ever, giving away a pass.

Oriol Romeu, Centre-Midfielder – 9

In full press from the get go.  First pass was wayward to say the least, but was so calm on the ball and accurate with his passes through the first half.  He and JWP connected on everything today and are a fit and sound partnership.

Nathan Redmond, Attacking-Midfielder – 6

Four giveaways in the first 10 minutes added to his already scarred confidence.  Then Bertrand set him up for a first time strike he needed to put on frame.  Played the entire game as if he has lost belief in himself.  Ralph was cheering him on with a couple late driving runs, but he is not in the form he expects and he is his own worst/biggest critic.  He will be clicking in full gear before long though and all of this will be behind him.

Stuart Armstrong, Attacking-Midfielder – 8

The ball did not find him much until he began drifting to the left.  Scored a great goal, but had it taken off the board for Che Adams being a step offside.  Does all the little things right and ran for 80 plus minutes following his illness.  If we are being harsh, he probably should have had an assist, but it is great to have him back.
