Midfielders

James Ward-Prowse, Centre-Mid – 10

Picked up an early yellow with a bad foul thanks to his counterpart’s passing decision.  Deposited two free kicks in the back of the net and one right on Vestergaard’s forehead.  Saw the rest of the game out from left-back as only a captain would do.  Happy 26th birthday indeed!

Oriol Romeu, Centre-Mid – 7

Early giveaway earned JWP a yellow and Villa a set piece from perfect position, making up for it with his head in the wall.  Not many forward passes period from Romeu, but his possession was good enough today.

Stuart Armstrong, Attacking-Mid – 7

Shifted to the right side, likely to support KWP with Grealish.  Ran himself into the ground through 96 minutes when his team needed him badly.

Theo Walcott, Attacking-Mid – 7

Earned the start over Redmond and looked dangerous on the counter from the start.  Got a shot on frame and was a part of the move leading to JWP’s second free kick.  Drifted in and out of the game and with all the happenings of the contest, his impact was rarely felt.
