High-press produces an excellent early goal

As always, Saints would have been looking for a strong start to the game and that’s just what they got.

Their high-press forced Newcastle into a corner on seven minutes and a combination of Kyle Walker-Peters and Theo Walcott won the ball in a dangerous area.

Walcott then took the ball on and set up Che Adams – the striker finishing with aplomb after positioning himself in a position to profit from.

Pressing football has directly led to many Saints goals over the last year and it will hand them even more over the course of the 2020/21 campaign.
