Southampton vs Newcastle: An analysis as Saints top the Premier League

Style will take its toll, but tonight proves there’s plenty in reserve

Teams that play with high intensity inevitably run out of some steam at some point in the season.

If that happens with Saints though, it seems that Ralph Hasenhuttl has plenty of players to call upon to freshen things up.

Moussa Djenepo and Jack Stephens both stepped into the team and did not look out of place – playing their part in a very solid team performance that has ultimately put Saints top of the top-flight for the first time since 1988.
