Strikers and Substitutes

Che Adams, Striker – 9

Put a good strike on target and not ten seconds later hammered a volley passed Karl Darlow.  Was just a step off on a couple reads, leading to offside fouls and missed opportunities to double the mark.  Worked his socks off regardless and played with the confidence this team needs in the absence of Ings.

Theo Walcott, Striker – 8

Joined in the press and earned the assist on the first Southampton goal.  Straight after received some medical treatment, having two fingers taped together.  A little bobble on his first touch may have cost the team some attacking opportunities in the first half.  Nearly doubled the lead after a deft flick from Moussa, and was highly involved through the first 45.  Many were hoping for a goal, but he played very well in first fill-in for Ings.  Will keep an eye on his wrist, which he claimed was very numb in his post match press conference.

Nathan Redmond, Substitute Attacking-Mid – N/A

Was the first sub off the bench for Hasenhuttl, taking over for Djenepo after 73 minutes.

Shane Long, Substitute Striker – N/A

Another late cameo for the Irish International who is yet to receive extended run this season.
