The player, who is known for his tremendous speed, has caught the eye of Southampton and they are now interested in him coming to England.

In a report from the dailymail, Balic has caught the eye of multiple clubs after being clocked around 39km/h in a U21 match.

Pace kills and this man has all of the pace in the world it appears. Balic, currently plays for LASK in the Austrian league and would only cost the Saints a few million pounds. He is 24 years of age but if Hasenhuttl can take his physical ability and add some skill to it he could become deadly.

Obviously, when you have a special quality like this there are multiple teams that will be interested in. Southampton, will face competition in the form of Brentford and also Celtic for the player.

With the Saints being in the Premier League and the Hasenhuttl being Austrian as well will definitely help sway the player to the Saints.

He will be a welcome addition to the squad and we will have to see him and Shane Long have a footrace.

This January will be interesting for the club especially if they continue in the form that they are in. If they see a chance to chase a Europa League spot they may get a little more aggressive than originally planned in the winter window.

Depth is always a luxury and Southampton do not necessarily have a ton of it. They are thin in the midfield and also the full-backs and that is the area they may look to improve in the winter.
