Stuart Armstrong will return to Southampton early due to yellow card accumulation in his time with the Scotland national team.

This is a bit of good news for Southampton as Stuart Armstrong has some history of getting injured during international duty. He will now get some extra rest ahead of the Wolves match on Monday.

Stu has been an instrumental part of Southampton’s system this season and really makes it all click. We sorely miss him whenever he is not fit so now we are able to ensure he can make the next match.

It is going to be a tough match against Wolves as they have been very stout defensively this season but have struggled thus far to score goals. The Saints will need the creativity of Armstrong to help breakdown the three in the back.

With Stuart coming back healthy now we just need the rest of our players to come back healthy so we have a full squad for the tough stretch coming up. The matches are going to start coming fast as the holidays are upon us and we all know how tough that stretch can be.

Luckily this is the last international break until March so we just need to get through this and we will not have to worry about any more injuries coming from national team duty.

The next two matches for the Saints come against Wolves and Man U and if they can get a result from both they will have to like how they can finish this season and put pressure on some of the top teams.
