Manager, Goalkeeper and Defenders

Ralph Hasenhuttl, Manager – 7

Would have been surprised to see Wolves line up as they did but his own tactics still worked well in the first-half.

Saints did lose control of the game in the latter stages so substitutions could have come earlier, but a point at Molineux is definitely positive.

Alex McCarthy, Goalkeeper – 9

Two or three very important saves in the first-half to keep Wolves from snatching the first goal.

Eight saves in all saw him put in a vital display that gave Saints a very valuable point and proved he is at the top of his game currently.

Kyle Walker-Peters, Right-Back – 7

Another bright showing but perhaps didn’t get forward as much as he would have liked as Wolves pressed Saints back in the second-half.

Ultimately, never lets the team down and made a goal-saving block in the second period.

Jan Bednarek, Centre-Back – 8

An impressive game on the ball for the Poland international who was regularly seen advancing or passing into midfield areas.

Most passes of any Saints player on the night with 80 in all.

Jannik Vestergaard, Centre-Back – 7

Every Saints fan must still be amazed that this is the same player we saw last season. Seven clearances, three tackles and two blocks in this game.

The Dane’s passing ability is now a crucial part of the current setup and he it will take something significant to take him out of the line-up.

Ryan Bertrand, Left-Back – 6

Gave Saints a much better balance at the back but was not allowed to get forward due to Wolves’ wing play.
