Midfielders

James Ward-Prowse, Centre-Midfielder – 8

Unfortunate to give away a penalty with his hand in an unnatural position.  As usual spent the match creating from set pieces while marshaling the midfield.  Just another boring day earning an assist from a corner kick and handing the ball to Danny to win the game.

Oriol Romeu, Centre-Midfielder – 9

Was forced to work really hard in the first half with the game being stretched.  Put himself on the precipice of a suspension with a typical yellow card.  Was excellent in possession in the second half, showing some development in forward passing particularly.  His teammates put him in a few ridiculous situations under pressure and he nearly got out of them all.  Romeu is class, absolute class.

Stuart Armstrong, Attacking-Midfielder – 8

Barely a touch 20 minutes in and none of them were positive.  Built himself into the game and flashed some improved footwork in tight spaces.  Ran himself tirelessly into the ground, and defensively he was immense in his pressing.  Every time his teammates used him he was coming off a lung-busting sprint, so we should go easy on his final product which was not quite there.

Moussa Djenepo , Attacking-Midfielder – 4

Forced into an early yellow by Tariq Lamptey, seriously altering his ability to play his game.  The desire to attack defenders off the dribble was there, but nothing was working out.  Added a few reckless tackles before halftime and that was enough for Ralph to kindly say his day was done.
