Strikers and Substitutes

Theo Walcott, Striker – 7

A couple of snap shots at goal totaled his first half highlights.  Drifted to the left hand side when Ings entered at halftime.  Flashed a couple high level moves, one even too cerebral for Danny Ings.  Curled a 20 yard shot outside the far post in his best attempt, but one has to love his resurgence in the red and whites.

Che Adams, Striker – 7

Not much to say in the first 45, just couldn’t find the ball or his footing.  Got to love seeing him in his own defensive 3rd late into the match.  Maybe a bit of tired legs hampered his play today.

Danny Ings, Substitute Striker – 7

Back into the lineup and his first contribution was a brave defensive header.  Converted the go-ahead penalty as good as you possibly could.  Already licking his plate for Sheffield on Sunday.

Nathan Redmond, Substitute Attacking-Midfielder – 6

His return came in the 68th minute as he replaced Theo Walcott.  Was treated with a chance of the spectacular with a flick from Danny Ings.  Best moment of the night was a diaganol pass to Armstrong that he just overplayed.  We need this man to get his confidence back as his running and pace are a perfect fit for Ralph’s system.
