Midfielders

James Ward-Prowse, Centre-Midfielder  – 9

A couple of huge first half interceptions which could go unnoticed.  In the 40th minute specifically, he covered for his back line which would have led to a 3 man Arsenal break.  His set pieces were quality and asked questions as always, but he probably should have scored when Djenepo set him up from 10 yards.

Oriol Romeu, Centre-Midfielder – 9

A couple of rondo passes in first half stoppage time is something every fan should go back and see.  King of possession and nearly got his second assist in two games with a chip to Redmond.  Not asked to do much, but pass after the red card.

Stuart Armstrong, Attacking-Midfielder – 5

A couple of early giveaways are becoming a worrying pattern of behavior.  The timing of the turnovers tax the entire team as well as they often came with the players in transition.  Two driving runs of note, but could not muster a shot and his volleys on second balls from attacking corner kicks were hilariously bad.

Theo Walcott, Attacking-Midfielder – 9

Drifted in behind Danny Ings when the striker dropped for the ball creating an early, in-behind threat.  Kept pushing the Arsenal back line and was gifted a beauty of a pass from Che Adams before chipping Leno.  Was really good in defense today, albeit being a step late to challenge Saka before he broke through for the equaliser.
