Strikers and Substitutes

Danny Ings, Striker – 8

Not hugely involved in the first half.  The two times he picked up the ball in good position, he looked a bit predictable working the ball to his right foot and flashed his only attempt over the bar.  Frustration is coursing through his veins as his muscle memory is trying to get back up to speed.  He is in the right places and is fit, it’s just a matter of time til the goals come.

Che Adams, Striker – 9

Showed his strength early on, manhandling Tierney and putting Saka on the turf for the second time.  The team looked long to him often and he did well to win some free kicks in positive position.  Played a perfectly weighted pass to Walcott for the assist on the first goal.  One strike found the target, but then looked lost within the Arsenal low block.

Nathan Redmond, Substitute Attacking-Midfielder – 5

Nearly scored from a beautiful flick pass from Romeu, maybe should have.  Stepped on the ball too often with opportunities to drive 1v1.  Opted for diaganols into the box instead, and the one time he took on Cedric was his best contribution.

Moussa Djenepo, Substitute Attacking-Midfielder – 7

Built for 11v10 football.  Taking on outside backs 1v1 and creating opportunity after opportunity.  Needed to do more with his best chance on the through ball from Bertrand.
