Strikers and Substitutes
Danny Ings, Striker – 7
Early contributions were on the defensive end and his first couple attacking opportunities did not come off. Was so close in catching a rebound from a Walcott strike, but worrying he did not make it through the half in what looked like a lower left leg injury.
Che Adams, Striker – 8
Not hugely involved in the first half with few moments of note. Tirelessly worked and his best chances came from headers. City did well to take him out of the attack, but his presence was certainly felt.
Nathan Tella, Substitute Striker – 6
When Danny Ings went down, who would have thought Tella would get the call over his peers? He went straight to the striker position with Walcott remaining on the right. Played a couple very dangerous early balls across the box, but looked like the pace and fitness were not quite there.
Nathan Redmond, Substitute Attacking-Midfielder – 5
Came on before the hour and was gifted two chances in a minute. Neither chance helped his confidence, that’s for sure. Need to find a way to get him to run at defenders and play 1-2’s equal to when he scored against Sheffield. Otherwise he is lacking the creation this team needs out of its midfielders.
Dan N’Lundulu, Substitute Striker – N/A
Came on late to find a goal in place of Che Adams. Could count his touches on one hand, but he is clearly ahead of Long and Obafemi at this point.
