Southampton fail to get past a resolute West Ham in a goalless draw.

The result means that Saints stay in ninth place and move to 26 points. They also miss the opportunity to go into the top four.

SFC started brightly despite the absence of manager Ralph Hasenhüttl. Surprise inclusion Danny Ings netted for his side in the opening 20 minutes. Unfortunately, for the returning number nine his strike partner Che Adams had strayed offside before making the pass.

The Hammers offered very little in the first half, but stepped it up in the second as they went in search of a winner. Neither side managed to break through consistently as both only manage three shots on target (BBC Sport).

Hardly a feast of action, but nevertheless three players still managed to impress. Let’s find out who, as we discuss the three players that impacted Southampton 0 West Ham 0.
