Q1: What do you make of Saints’ squad depth at the moment and do they have enough options to see this season through and keep up their current form?

A: While I think Saints’ first XI are extremely talented this season under Ralph, and it shows in the club’s results on the pitch thus far, squad depth beyond the first XI and a few select subs (Stephens, Djenepo) is easily my chief concern for the rest of the campaign. This was shown in the match against Manchester United when Ralph was unable to substitute a viable attacker relative to United’s strength and Cavani netted two after coming on. Saints could easily keep up their momentum barring any major injuries in my opinion, but bolstering their depth especially on the attacking side should be a big priority for the club through the rest of the January window.
