Southampton fans have been wondering if Ryan Bertrand would sign a new contract with the club and extend his time on the South Coast.

The Left-back has enjoyed a nice spell of form over the past year or so for Southampton and has really flourished with Ralph Hasenhuttl at the helm.

Most supporters are clamoring for the player to sign a new deal to keep him at the club for the foreseeable future.

Well those concerns may be put to bed soon as it looks like a new deal for the player will be coming sometime soon.

Bertrand, when chatting with Adam Blackmore, said, “I love being here. I want to stay.” So that will lead many to believe that a new deal is imminent.

With Bertrand (hopefully) locked down, we can look forward to more of his play on the left side. He has really grown into the system and links up well with pretty much whoever Ralph sticks out there on the left with him.

The only concern is if Bertrand does ever go down with injury who will come in and replace him? Will it be Vokins or will the club spend some money this January to bring in some new blood.

The January window is almost halfway over and the club has yet to do anything significant. I hope they start making moves here soon because the fixtures are going to be coming at them quickly and injuries or fatigue could quickly add up.

I have faith Ralph can navigate the club through the heavy fixture period but he will need help.
