Southampton are looking to bolster the squad and have now been linked with midfielder Mattias Svanberg who is having a nice season for Bologna.

Mattias Svanberg is a midfielder who can play defensive midfield as well as a more advanced position. Southampton have been hampered by injuries lately and looking to add some depth to the squad as they look to make a run at Europe.

Southampton are not the only Premier League club interested in the player as Leicester have also kept an eye on the player and Milan in Italy are also trying to sign the 22-year-old.

You can read the report here, the player is capable of playing in a number of position and can give the club cover if there are anymore injuries to the squad. So far this season he has bagged 2 goals and an assist in the midfield and has brought stability to Bologna.

He would not be a terribly expensive player and with the form he has been playing in means he is highly sought after.

It is the 14th day of January and the Saints have not made any moves yet this window and the month is coming to a close very soon.

I think we will start seeing rumours pick up some steam and possibly a new signing next week for the club. Svanberg, would be a great pickup in my opinion and would not break the bank which is always a positive for Saints.
