Q1: What do you make of Saints’ squad depth at the moment and do they have enough options to see this season through and keep up their current form?

A: The first team squad depth is worrying in relation to the physical demands of our system.  You can see injuries piling up right now and Ralph has proven hesitant on the rotation of players.  Fitness and now health (COVID-19) are paramount to Southampton success.

With an incredibly busy two months ahead of us, it is time to use the youth which has provided the foundation to the club historically, to truly understand the depth of the current team.  The likes of Dan N’Lundulu, Nathan Tella, Will Smallbone, Jake Voikins and Yan Valery should all be able to step in at this point and provide the regulars needed rest.  It is up to Ralph to trust them to do so.
