Southampton: Club welcomes back hummel as kit supplier
Southampton will welcome back hummel as the official kit supplier for the club starting next season as the Under Armour partnership ends.
The announcement came earlier today from Southampton’s official site and this move will reunite the two brands after 30 years.
“From the moment we first met the hummel team it was obvious there was a great connection between us…” said David Thomas. Both sides seem very excited about this deal and it will be a good partnership over the life of the deal.
hummel CEO said, “Football is engrained in our brand DNA at hummel and the partnership with Southampton represents another huge step of our ambitious growth plans and expansion internationally.”
This is an exciting deal and I am looking forward to what hummel produces for the club.
What this deal does means is that the current deal with Under Armour has been mutually agreed upon to end at the end of this season. Under Armour has developed the kits and wear for the club over the past four seasons but have wanted to go in a different direction.
I think this is a step in the right direction for the club. Under Armour was really trying to break into the sport but it seems they did not make the headway they wanted.
hummel is well established and has created some iconic kits already for the club so it will be exciting to see them back on the shirt.
They have released a video with some familiar faces in it that you can check out in the link posted in this article.
