Southampton have loaned out another player and this time it is Jake Vokins who is going to Sunderland for the rest of the season.

The Leftt-back is going on-loan to get game time and develop for the future. He has managed to get some game time this season but he will likely be the starter at Sunderland as they hunt promotion this season.

This is a good move for Vokins as he will play a lot and in a division, he can excel. I am happy for the player and he seems excited by the move.

For the Saints, this leaves them then at the Left-back position with really only Ryan Bertrand as the only option at that position. Southampton will have to look at the market for other options and will absolutely need to make a move for someone else.

We have seen how injuries can expose this team because of the lack of squad depth and we cannot afford to not bring in another wingback this January.

They have been linked with Maitland-Niles from Arsenal but he has to choose between Southampton and West Brom.

Hopefully, Ralph can lure him to the South Coast by showing him how he is able to get the most out of a player but West Brom may be the best place for the player to get game time.

The window is closing quickly and they will have to make a move. I am excited to see how Vokins develops at Sunderland however and think he is the future for us.
