Southampton just brought in one player in January while they loaned out a number of young players for the remainder of the season.

Now, with the current injury situation, the Saints are as thing as ever and have some tough fixtures they will have to navigate and try to not fall too far off the pace of the top half of the table.

If there is anyone who can do it, it is Ralph Hasenhuttl but it will not be easy. The club currently has just one senior fullback that is healthy and that is Ryan Bertrand. Vokins and Valery on loan means we cannot have another injury to our fullback position.

In general, we cannot suffer any more injuries at the moment our youth team will be out there playing against some of the best teams in the world. If the club stays healthy, I believe Ralph will be able to manage some results that keep us on pace for a top-half finish.

The defense has remained strong, but the issue has become the attack. Although it was better against Villa, they still failed to score and that has become an issue for the club. The attack has seemed to just be lacking a bit of creativity at the moment. No one is willing to take a defender on and try to make them miss.

Today’s match against Manchester United will be a real test of what we are made of. The lineup will likely be something we have never seen before and a lot of players will be asked to step up.

I am hoping they can tough out a draw today against a confident United side and we will see where they can go from here.
