Manchester City have been missing Sergio Aguero for most of this season and now looking at Danny Ings as well as others as a replacement.

According to a new report from David Ornstein and the Atheltic, have put Danny Ings on the shortlist of strikers that Manchester City are looking at bringing in.

We all know Ings’ desire to go play for a Champions League side and this will not kill those desires by any means if a move to one of the best clubs in the world is possible.

It has been well documented the contract talks between the striker and Southampton so we will see if a new deal can get done before the summer window opens up in a few months.

Losing Danny Ings would definitely hurt, especially with the side struggling for constant goals from anywhere else other than James Ward-Prowse from a dead-ball.

The next year for Southampton is going to be very interesting. There are a lot of questions that need to be answered and Danny Ings is one of those. The striker said he would be happy to stay but would like a release clause in his contract if a bigger club comes knocking.

How much that release clause will be for is the snagging point for the talks between the striker and the club. Too big no one will match it. Too little he will be snapped up in a heartbeat. FInding that balance is key and Southampton do not want to be robbed of their best player if he does end up leaving.

This is something we will keep our eyes on and any update we will make sure to bring to you all.
