Strikers and Substitutes

Danny Ings, Striker – 7

Got lucky with his goal, but there were signs that he was getting his old goalscoring habits back. Clever movement preceded his goal, whilst three other shots saw him come close to creating something for himself in the way he was last season.

Nathan Redmond, Striker – 7

Should have scored on two occasions, but his role as striker was key in the attacking joy Saints had throughout the game.

As a player with the instincts of a winger, he popped up all over the place to try and create openings and showed he can give his team another option.

Che Adams, 1st Substitute – N/A

On in place of Ings late on and did not have time to contribute much.

Nathan Tella, 2nd Substitute – 6

A few crucial touches of the ball and a calm head to set up Armstrong’s goal that confirmed the win. Good to see him back as an options after injury too.
