Midfielder Angelo Fulgini has caught the eye of Southampton with his stellar play this season for Angers in the French division.

According to a report from sportswitness, the club will make an attempt to bring the player in over the summer when the transfer window opens up again.

Southampton are not the only team interested in the player as Everton were once linked with the midfielder and the French club Marseille have him on their shortlist as well.

We know one thing the Saints lack is squad depth and this is leading to injuries and fatigue and it is impacting the results on the pitch.

Ralph needs to be backed financially so he can bring in a number of players he likes to add to that depth and have better squad rotation next season. What I hope is that he is able to bring in around 3 players this summer and I think that will add the necessary depth to compete all season long.

Fulgini would cost around €15m which is in the price range of a club like Southampton. Even with the finances being not in the best of shape the club should still be able to afford a few players to help Ralph Hasenhuttl out.

The article claims that Southampton were interested in the player over the January window but the asking price was too high for them at the time and passed. But they do intend to come back in the summer and make another offer for the player as they believe he is a good piece and will be a welcome addition to the team.
