Ralph Hasenhuttl has confirmed that Southampton have suffered another injury but he has not revealed who it is at this time.

Southampton have been ravaged by injuries this season and according to the site Hampshire Live, the club has suffered another one.

Ralph did not reveal who suffered the injury and how severe it was but it is still upsetting to hear the team has faced another injury. The squad depth is very thin to begin with and now another injury, especially if it’s a starter, could be detrimental at this point in time.

Southampton are taking on a tough Chelsea side tomorrow and could have used their full strength against the top four side.

Hopefully, this is the wake-up call the club needs to buy more players in the summer. It will be interesting to see what happens with Gao and if he keeps the team or sells in the coming months.

Ralph is secure in his job but if he does not start getting the support he needs he may think about leaving and you cannot really blame him for that. It has been a tough road and it looked like the team had turned a corner until the new year and now the wheels have fallen off a bit.

There is still a lot of season left and plenty of time to turn it around but they need to do it soon because they are quickly getting caught by a number of teams that use to be comfortably below them on the table.

We shall see how Saturday goes.
