Southampton head to Everton this evening and will be looking to get a much-needed positive result to change their fortunes.

Seven losses from eight games have seen a fall from sixth to 14th it the Premier League table and a couple more wins are required to ensure a safe position away from the bottom three.

Everton have made progress this season and are looking to finish strong to keep their charge towards Europe going.

Ahead of tonight’s game, we got the views of Toffees fan and Grand Old Team writer Garrett Post as he answered our questions on 2020/21 so far:

Q1) With 14 games of this season left, Everton look set to compete for those top four places and are well in the race for Europe. There have been some inconsistent spells though, so how have you and Everton fans viewed this season so far?

A) Well, it’s clearly a work in progress. Our squad lacks depth and so we’ve been compromised by injury here and there. We’ve been better on the road this season than we have been in decades, but our home form is simply appalling at the moment. Overall, we’re in a much better place then we were when Ancelotti took over, so if we can get into Europe and continue the renovation of our squad in the summer, there’s a lot for Evertonians to look forward to.
