Everton vs Southampton: Saints Player Ratings from narrow loss

Southampton were defeated for the eighth time in nine Premier League games on Monday evening after a narrow loss to Everton.

Richarlison’s early goal proved to be the difference between the Saints and the Toffees but the visitors to Goodison Park did not put in a consistent performance that warranted a result.

Ralph Hasenhuttl and his team have had many things go against them in the last two months but they need to find a solution to their problems in the upcoming run of games.

Meetings with Sheffield United and Brighton – either side of a daunting trip to Man City – have to be the games that push Saints to somewhere near safety and enable them to push in the FA Cup. Important players returning in the next two weeks will also be vital.
