Southampton are going to have an interesting summer at the end of this season and if they cannot re-sign Ings they will need a replacement.

That is where Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham comes into the picture. According to a report from Eurosport, the club has shown interest in the striker if they are not able to resign Danny Ings.

The club are prepared to make Danny Ings the highest-paid player in club history but if that falls through they will be willing to make that happen for Tammy Abraham.

Abraham has had sporadic playtime this season and is prepared to make a move in the summer. There would be a number of teams who would go after the striker if a move is allowed but right now it looks as though just Southampton and West Ham have kicked the tires on the striker.

Abraham is a tall, lanky striker but I am not sure how well he would fit Hasnehuttl’s system. But if the club believes he is a good fit and a good replacement for Ings then I will have to trust them cause they get paid to make those decisions and I do not.

Moving forward, it will be interesting to see what Southampton do in regards to their current highest-paid player, Fraser Forster.

The goalkeeper is rumoured to be making around £75,000-a-week and that is some serious money for a player who has only made a few starts this season.

Hopefully, the owner backs the club a little bit financially this summer so they can purchase a number of players and can buff the team some.
