The Seagulls Swoop In To Take All Three Points

The home side were not at their best during the match and struggled particularly in the second half. Brighton created the better chances and were good value for their victory.

The final blow came early in the second half. Former Saint Adam Lallana returned to help sink the club he once captained.

The midfielder receives the ball in the Southampton third and provides an incisive ball into Danny Welbeck just outside the penalty area. The striker only requires one touch to find Trossard.

The Belgian expertly positions himself between the defenders before breaking into the box. Trossard makes no mistake as he blasts the ball past a helpless keeper. The move was swift and cutting which was everything Saints were not.

A now all-too-familiar bad day at the office sees a once promising season turning increasingly sour.
