Southampton have to look at other striking options because it is a real possibility Danny Ings is not on the squad next year and Kuchta is on the radar.

The striker currently plays for Slavia Prague and has caught the attention of a number of Premier League teams and not just Southampton. According to this report, West Ham are currently the front runners for the player but Newcastle and Brighton also are keeping tabs on him.

The 24-year-old has been playing brilliantly for his club in their league and also European competition and looks poised for a move away this summer.

In just 25 appearances this season he has 13 goals and 7 assists across all competitions. The reason West Ham may be leading this race is that they have had successful business done with Slavia Prague in recent years. Both Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal have come from the club.

We know it is no guarantee that Ings will be at the club next season as his contract is still up for dispute but even if he does return it would not hurt to sign another attacker. The team is desperately thin and could really use some depth next year if they want to maintain the type of form they had at the beginning of the season.

I have said it several times, it is going to be a massively important summer for Southampton as they need to back Ralph and get him some players so he can achieve the sort of success he wants and is capable of.

The season is rapidly coming to a close so starting to identify targets for the summer is an important first step in that.
