Southampton will take on familiar foes, Bournemouth, in the FA Cup quarter-finals with a good chance to take the next step to the semis.

Bournemouth are hunting promotion back into the Premier League just the season after they were sent down and also have a chance to reach the FA Cup semi-finals.

These two teams are obviously very familiar with each other and it should be a hard-fought match and an entertaining one.

Let us see how both teams can win

How Bournemouth will win

The Cherries know the Saints are struggling and low-on-confidence at the moment and will want to take advantage of that.

Bournemouth are without Eddie Howe however and that could be a bit of a negative as he had faced Hasenhuttl’s Saints several times with success in the Premier League.

I think they will try and press for a goal early then sit back and invite the pressure from Southampton because they will know their opponents’ struggle with breaking down a low-block

How Southampton Will Win

The FA Cup quickly went from secondary goal to the possibly the only positive to come out of this season. If Southampton can safely avoid relegation and get themselves to Wembley I think that would be the best-case scenario for this season.

Southampton simply need to play creative, confident football and they should be able to win comfortably. But that really is the issue. They can seem void of confidence at times and it is incredibly frustrating to watch.

I think the opportunity for them to go to the Semi-finals of the FA Cup will be motivation enough for them to get up for this match and win
