Southampton see two familiar faces return to training before their match on Sunday in the form of Danny Ings and Theo Walcott

In pictures seen on the club’s official website, you can see the two smiling faces of both the attacking players which is a welcome sight for supporters.

Southampton will take on Burnley this Sunday morning and I would be shocked to not see Ings starting immediately for the Saints. Walcott, on the other hand, I do not think will return to the starting XI immediately but can provide a boost off of the bench this weekend.

This is a big match for the Saints as they are inching closer to safety and need a few more good performances to secure their spot in the Premier League for next season. The two clubs currently sit level on points and goal differential and just 7 points above the drop zone.

If either team manages to get all 3 points from this one it could be a massive boost in securing their safety.

Southampton have struggled to score goals in the league and getting their leading scorer back will be a huge boost for a team that needs one bad. Although his future at the club is a mystery he is there right now and the team needs to take advantage of his presence and get him the ball in goal-scoring areas.

If Danny Ings can get on the scoresheet on Sunday I think the Saints will be in a good position to pick up all 3 points from this one. And that will mean they are one step closer to safety.
