The Southampton striker has garnered a lot of attention from other clubs and Man City look ready to make a move to replace Sergio Aguero.

According to a report on football insider 247, City are looking for strikers to replace Sergio Aguero who announced recently that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

It is no small feat to replace a striker of Aguero’s ability so it is no wonder why Danny Ings has made it onto the shortlist of possible replacements. He has the skill and the ability to play with that City team and would likely enjoy the play style of Pep immensely.

It will not be a shock if Ings leaves this summer but that does not mean it will not hurt. He has endeared himself to fans and has also proven to be our most consistent goal source.

What will the Saints do to replace a player like Ings? Likely they would have to break their record for a transfer fee and the record for the highest-paid player at the club and that will have to take backing by Gao.

The board has said it will back Ralph this summer but they will need to prove that. If we do not spend the sort of money we need to this upcoming transfer window it could be a very long 2021-22 season that ends in relegation for the Saints.

Losing Danny Ings will be a blow if it happens. But it will not be the end of the world and the Saints will need to start looking for possible replacements now and not a week before the transfer window closes.
