Snatching Defeat from the Jaws of Victory

Burnley looked bright in the early going and were quickly rewarded for their efforts. After going one up through a Chris Wood spot kick Sean Dyche’s, charges executed route one football to perfection.

From just inside his own half Ben Mee fires a long ball into the Saints’ final third. Alert to the opportunity previous goalscorer Wood turns provider. The New Zealander manages a neat header to place the ball into the path of Vydra.

The striker makes no mistake as he blasts the ball past Forster. A cracking strike which the Czech front man would have surely thought would be enough to give his side all three points.

Fortunately, Southampton had other ideas about that.
